Madelyn + Stephen Wedding Weekend

Last weekend we drove up to Austin to attend Madelyn and Stephen's wedding!  Madelyn is one of the wonderful ladies that I met through the Houston Junior League during our provisional year as Saturday volunteer waitresses.  The whole gang was able to make the wedding, husbands included!
Maddie literally thought of every single detail from the goody bag at check-in to the favors.  Definitely one of the best weddings I have ever been to.  Jason's favorite part was the venue.  The wedding and reception were at the University of Texas Golf Club.  It really was a perfect setting with perfect weather.  My favorite part of the wedding was the music.  There was beautiful ceremony music, an awesome quartet during cocktail hour and large band for the reception that played nothing but oldies.

All the girls!

I clearly didn't take this photo bc you can see us on the other side of the dance floor.  Erin are you crying??

Madelyn even got on stage to sing!

Best favor ever!  Since Madelyn and Stephen are moving to Boston, it read "Texas Born, Boston Bound" and included a Brisket Taco and Boston Baked Beans.

Congratulations Madelyn and Stephen!
We'll let you get settled in Boston first, but we look forward to visiting for our "Boston Tea-Room Party"!!!

Nicole + Geoffrey Wedding Weekend

Last weekend my step-sister, Nicole got married to her long-time love Geoffrey!  The entire weekend was wonderful, including the weather.  They are off on their honeymoon now (very jealous)!  I'm so happy for them and excited to share their wedding with you.
The rehearsal dinner was held at Los Cucos in Katy.  I am a dumb-dumb and did not take any pictures except this lovely phone pic Jason took, but Geoffrey's family did not awesome job hosting.  Every table was decorated with bright flowers, pictures of the happy couple and every guest received a Mexican Shaker...I know there is a better name, I just can't think of it...the kids and I loved these!

The wedding on Saturday was held at Briscoe Manor in Richmond, TX.  The chapel and reception hall are all together which I love and the grounds were gorgeous!  The ceremony was beautiful and had lots of personal touches from Nicole including the Chevron programs (a girl after my own heart) and recessional music by Plain White Tees.

The reception was simply fun. Again, you could see so many personal touches like the Cookie Bar with Chevron To-Go bags instead of a grooms cake (which did include milk shots), a photo booth, traditional German dances, and custom Aggie towels to swing as the couple departed instead of throwing petals.

Jessica (My other step-sis/Nicole's Sister and matron of honor) being announced at the reception

Beautiful cake...one of the tiers perfectly matched the lace on Nicole's dress

Karin & Dad doing the German dance that just wouldn't end...so glad I didn't jump in on that one
.

Congratulations to Nicole and Geoffrey!

2 Year Wedding Anniversary

Two years ago today, Jason and I got married in front of friends and family and vowed to spend the rest of our lives together.  What an amazing day!

Happy Anniversary Jason!  I love you and have loved being your wife for the past 2 years.  Can't wait for many, many more.

Simply Stunning

I couldn't let the day go by without talking about this week's big topic: The Royal Wedding. I haven't been paying too much attention to all of the speculation leading up to today about dresses, hair, etc, but I was excited to watch it.  Even though I had to work a full day today, I wanted to at least try and get up early to watch it (I did DVR the Today Show's full show hour coverage just in case I couldn't wake up).

My alarm went off at 3am, but that was just a bit too early so I snoozed for an hour and turned on the TV around 4am just in time to watch the final guests and wedding party arriving.  I told myself I would just watch until Kate walked into the church and go back to sleep, but I ended up watching the ENTIRE thing: Kate leaving the hotel, the arrivals, the full hour ceremony, the carriage rides (I did jump in the shower during this part), the first kiss, the second kiss, everything!  I'm pretty tired, but it was worth it.

This is one of my favorite pictures.  To say Kate looked stunning is an understatement.  Her dress, hair, veil, jewelry, makeup, all was perfect.

I am also in love with Pippa- love the name, love her dress, love her!  She did such a great job with all of the children, Kate's train, and looked fabulous while doing it.

I love her dress so much and think this one will get replicated just as much (if not more) than Kate's dress for bridal gowns.

Props to Kate because I just don't know that many brides who would be confident enough in themselves to let the maid of honor (with a killer figure) where such a stunning white gown at the wedding.  The blogs are already going crazy about the appropriateness of Pippa's white dress, but I loved it and thought it was sweet and classic, but with a nice modern twist.

And one final note...Pippa Purifoy?  Thoughts?  If not for my child (no, I'm not pregnant) I think we will see this name spike in popularity this year.

Now Pippa and Kate - go enjoy some wedding cake.  You both look great, but a little hungry!

Jenni + Chris Wedding Weekend

Jason and I had a busy weekend (2 weekends ago) celebrating the marriage of our two friends Jenni & Chris!

Chris and Jason grew up together in Corsicana and are still best buds.  We were so happy when Chris moved to Houston a few years ago.

Jenni and I used to work together at the HBU (neither one of us are there anymore!).

Jenni and Chris met at the rodeo cookoff a few years ago (exactly one year after Jason and I met at the same rodeo cookoff...whoa!!).  The day after they met, Chris called me and Jason saying that he met a girl that I work with and asked if I would help connect them.  That next day I ran into Jenni, brought up Chris and asked if I could give him her email address...the rest is history!

Friday night we attended their Welcome Dinner "Fiesta' at the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center.  It was great to connect with friends we hadn't seen in a while, the food was awesome and the bride and groom looked happy and relaxed.  Too bad this is the only picture I took of the entire evening!

Saturday the boys golfed and I got a much needed haircut.  The weather was beautiful and we were all ready for the wedding at 6pm outside on the Forest Deck at the Woodlands Resort.  Jason was an usher and didn't trip once (except for after the wedding which doesn't count).

Jenni looked beautiful and Chris looked handsome.  The ceremony was gorgeous and sweet.
(Some of these pics were taken by friends and pulled off FB...gotta give credit!)

The cake was sooo yummy!

My handsome husband and me

Jeff and Jason back together!  These boys lived together when J and I started dating.  We miss having Jeff in Houston.

Great toast Cory!

My favorite part was the game they played at the ceremony

And then the dancing started...

I wanted to show you Jenni's two beautiful dresses since I didn't get any pics of her in the second dress, I pulled these from her gorgeous bridal portraits by Mia Bella Photography:
