Mid Week Muse: Stella & Dot Launch

Stella & Dot just launched a new line that I'm LOVING!  Even though it's still H-O-T outside I'm starting to think about transitioning into fall.  I love to invest in quality pieces that can be worn year-round and work for multiple events - work, fun, weekend.  I tend to wears lots of dark, solid colors in the fall and winter and love to play with accessories for fun little pops!

DIY Earring Holder

 

I'm so excited to share this super easy DIY Earring Holder with you today!  I can not take the credit for thinking of this.  It was all my step-sister Nicole.  I saw it at her house and fell in love.  She told me exactly what I needed in order to make one for myself and now I wanted to share it with you! Once you pull of the items together the actual project takes about 3 minutes!

You will need:

 

• One picture frame of your choosing.  Any size will work.  Nicole used an 11x14.  I used a 9x12.  It's important to find a frame with the metal tabs on the back - see picture below. 
• One decorative metal sheet
• Metal snips

 

I purchased all three of these items at Hobby Lobby.  You can also get the metal sheets at Home Depot.  Hobby Lobby had three different style options - all were $11.99 per sheet which would make about two holders depending on the size of your frame. 

All you have to do is take your picture frame and remove the glass and backing.  Measure your metal sheet and cut it to fit inside the frame.  Secure the sheet with the picture frame tabs.  Done!

I used a metal frame stand to lean the frame against and then hung my favorite earrings.

Kendra Scott Store #4

My yuck day just got a little better since Kendra Scott just announced the location of store #4 in...

HTown!!!

Who else is as excited as I am.  My husband and my pocketbook...not so much.  I think I will need to be there for the grand opening...for the blog of course. 

Kendra Scott will now have store locations in Austin - Dallas - Beverly Hills - HOUSTON!

Kendra Scott Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

Kendra Scott's Pre-Fall Items make their debut today at 5pm CST.  I am super jazzed about the earrings on the bottom right and the turquoise necklace!  They are calling this line Southwest-meets-Tribal.  If you are in Dallas or Austin, the Kendra Scott stores will be hosting a Girls Night Out Debut party for the line tonight.

I Heart Kendra Scott

Earlier this month while in Austin for Maddie's wedding, Jason was kind enough to humor me and we went to the Kendra Scott store before heading home.  I've recently fallen in love with all things Kendra Scott so I was very excited to see her flagship store!

We bought Jeanna, my sis-in-law a little something for taking care of Tucker that weekend.

For Jeanna, the new Sky earrings in Salmon.  The Sky earrings are the smaller and lighter version of Skylar.

And since we were there I figured I had to buy myself something too...the Elle earrings in Green.  I love my Danielle earrings, but these are great since they a bit smaller and lighter.  I'm able to wear them more including to work.  For my line of work, the Danielle's are little too flashy.

Mommy!

I never did a Mother's Day Post, but by now if you read my blog regularly, you know my mom and I are super close.  She is my rock, sounding board and best friend.  This year was very special because my birthday fell on Mother's Day.  She's the one person I don't mind sharing my bday with! 

We obviously spent the day together celebrating our special days.  One of the things I got her for Mother's Day was the new Kendra Scott Elle earrings in Turquoise.  The Elle earrings are the smaller version of the popular Danielle earrings, which I have...I knew mom would like the smaller version.  They are so cute on her!

And sidenote, regarding these earrings, I love the bold statement and pop of color that the Danielle earrings add, however, I will say that they are heavy.  They don't bother me when I first put them on, but after wearing them all day my ears hurt!  I've read the Elle earrings aren't bothering people since they are much lighter.

I went to Nordstroms specifically for these earrings for mom.  I got so lucky because they had one pair left!  I picked them up but continued to browse through the jewelry section to make sure this was what I wanted for mom.  I noticed a lady following me and watching my every move, but I just figured she was doing the same thing I was.  When I finally told the sales clerk to wrap up the Kendra Scott earrings, I heard the lady grunt and run off.  What did I do???

The salesclerk told me she wanted that last pair and was hoping I would drop them...sorry lady!

Favorite Things

Since it's a new year, I've been trying to organize everything!  My closest, my drawers, my pantry.  My bestie, Ashley gave me this CUTE Farmer's Egg Crate from Anthropologie for Christmas.  Although I think it so cute to hold eggs in your refrigerator (and may purchase another for that) I needed another organizer for my earrings, so voila...

This makes me happy every time I open my drawer and choose which earrings to wear.  Thanks Ashel!!!

Have I Been Living Under a Rock?

Why did I just now discover Kendra Scott?  As soon as I went to her website, I realized that I've been seeing this jewelry on everyone...friends, bloggers, celebrities.  Even some pieces that I just picked up at Francesca's seem to be Kendra Scott knockoffs!

I would have certainly added these puppies to my Christmas List...Valentine's Day/Anniversary in February, Jason?

More Arrow Jewelry

I posted about a piece of arrow jewelry by Stella & Dot that I love a few weeks ago.  {Arrows are one of the symbols for my sorority so I kind of have a thing for them}  Now arrow jewelry seems to be popping up everywhere!

And lucky me because my mom surprised me with this necklace as an early Valentine's gift.  Thanks Mommy!  This would make a great gift for an special lady in your life or a nice treat for yourself...you deserve it!  The necklace is very tiny and sweet with a delicate 16 inch necklace.  It's perfect for layering, but looks great by itself too.

Great Gift Idea

One of my blog/website loves, Twigs & Honey just launched a new online store on Etsy called Twigs etc.  Currently the store is featuring a fun feather charm necklace in several colors, $25.00 (see below), but plans to add more to the store soon. 

Just Because

Jason surprised me today with a necklace I've been lusting after since last May, no really, read here.  I came home to a scavenger hunt and found an Anthropologie gift card that I earned last week from my weight loss game (that's another post) and my very own Bullet Girl necklace!!! 

I love that there is a disclaimer on the Bullet Girl website that says to not wear your piece at the airport because you will not make it through security.  You know this has happened to a few people.  Definitely check out their line.  One of the designers is Houston based.  The line took off after Kim Kardashian flashed a pic of herself wearing one of the necklaces on her Twitter account.

Introducing a hot new jewelry line called Bullet Girl from Houston designers, Jessica Meyer and Heather Davis.  If the name didn't give it away for you, the line is made from real bullets.  It's strong and edgy, but with a sweet and feminine flare.  I think I need a piece for my birthday tomorrow!  My fave is the necklace that says Faith.
