15 Weeks

How far along: 15 weeks, 5 days
Size of Baby P: 3.98 inches, 2.47 ounces (according to Pregnancy App)
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to Baby Center):  Pear
Gender: Too early to know
Showing: Yes!
Maternity clothes: 90% Maternity pants and 50/50 in tops and dresses.
Unglamorous body changes:  Just getting bigger...even my butt!  I'm definitely not a "carry only in the belly" girl.
Sleep:  Pretty good.  Some nights I just can't seem to get comfortable, but once I fall asleep I'm good the rest of the night.
Movement: Very minimal tiny flutters while laying down at night only.
Food cravings: Still Mexican food and lemonade mostly.  I also crave unsweet iced tea daily, but I obviously limit this craving because of the caffeine.  I'm probably just sick of drinking so much water.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Still all over the place.  I cry so much more than I used to.
Best moment this week:  This isn't pregnancy related, but this week Jason and I were excited to host out very first Thanksgiving and it turned out great!  Also, my mom bought us something sweet for the nursery which was exciting since we haven't really done any baby shopping just yet.
Strange experiences:  Nothing except for a few strange dreams
Milestones:  I don't think we had any major milestones this week...it's hard to think of a "milestone" every week!
Looking forward to:  A trip we have planned very soon.  Everyone keeps asking us if this is our "babymoon."  Although it was planned as one, I guess you can call it that since I doubt we will take another major trip before baby.  This spring is already shaping up to be very busy!

Thoughts:
Still feeling great this week.  Even though my body is changing sometimes it's still hard to believe there is a baby growing inside of me.  I'm sure once I start feeling the major kicks this will change.  I'm a worrier by nature so I really look forward to every doctor appointment to check on baby's progress.  Our next appointment is in a couple of weeks so I'm also really looking forward to that and of course learning our baby's gender!

Hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

14 Weeks

How far along: 14 weeks, 5 days
Size of Baby P:  3.42 inches, 1.52 ounces (according to Pregnancy App)
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to Baby Center):  Lemon
Gender: Too early to know
Showing:  Yes! I woke up a few days ago and my belly had finally "popped!"  So exciting to finally look pregnant!
Maternity clothes:  90% Maternity pants and 50/50 in tops and dresses.
Unglamorous body changes:  No, just getting bigger
Sleep:  Good.  I bought a Boppy Pregnancy Pillow that is helping me sleep on my side, which I never used to do.  The pillow has really helped.
Movement:  Very minimal tiny flutters while laying down at night only.
Food cravings:  Lemonade !!!  I can't get enough of it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No!
Wedding rings on or off: On
Mood: Up and down and all around
Best moment this week:  Starting to officially show this week.  Another great moment was getting to see and spend a night out with my JL gals since learning of the pregnancy.  It was great to have some girl time, laugh and be silly.  The restaurant owner brought the table several rounds of shots so it was so nice to be pregnant and not have to take them...I HATE shots.  Happy Birthday Shannon!
Strange experiences:  Can't think of anything strange this week
Milestones:  Jason finally told his co-workers that we are expecting this week.  They are very excited and sent Jason home with a list of names we should consider.
Looking forward to:  Hosting Thanksgiving this year!  Being pregnant + stretchy maternity pants = best Thanksgiving ever!  Plus it will be great to see my family members since announcing the pregnancy.

Thoughts:
Feeling good this week.  No more nausea and getting less and less tired throughout the day.  I was fighting a bit of a cold this week, but tried to take extra good care of myself to kick it.  Feeling back to normal now!

13 Weeks

How far along:  13 weeks, 5 days
Size of Baby P:  2.91 inches, 0.81 ounces (according to Pregnancy App)
Fruit/vegetable comparison (according to Baby Center):  Kiwi
Gender:  Too early to know.  Our nurse said the baby's heartbeat sounded like a female heartbeat.  Jason and I both think boy.  I dreamed we had a girl last night.  The Chinese Gender Predictor said boy.  Basically, who the heck knows!
Showing:  Mostly just from weight gain, not from baby, but I'm starting to get a little bump
Maternity clothes:  Some, mostly in pants and jeans for comfort
Unglamorous body changes:  Just weight gain at this point.
Sleep:  Pretty good.  Usually up 1-2 times a night to pee.  Also have been waking up in the middle of the night, around 4:30am, wide awake and wanting lemonade.
Movement:  I feel tiny flutters only when I lay down at night.  Doctor said it certainly could be the baby by now.
Food cravings:  Mexican food always, lemonade
Anything making you queasy or sick:  No!
Wedding rings on or off:  On
Mood: Moody.  I sobbed during The Walking Dead and am getting a little snippy at people who continue to comment on my pregnancy.  I never realized how closed off I am at work.  I don't like talking about myself in the workplace, yet that's all anyone wants to talk about...me, how I'm feeling, my growing belly, what I should be doing, etc.  This is one part of pregnancy I dislike.
Best moment this week:  Hearing Baby P's heartbeat for the first time today!
Strange experiences:  I had the most weird, vivid dream last night of giving birth.  In the dream, childbirth was a horrible experience, but the good news is that she was gorgeous!
Milestones:  Not being able to fit into 95% of my pants and transitioning into maternity pants.
Looking forward to:  Having a more prominent baby belly so it doesn't just look like I'm bloated.  I know it's my own insecurities and I probably need therapy, but I'm constantly wanting to notify people that I'm not fat, just pregnant.  I feel like their eyes are judging me.

Also, I'm really, really looking forward to learning the gender.  Then we can decide on names, nursery, and start buying precious, precious baby clothes!  There is so much to look foward to I can't even begin to list it all!

Thoughts:
Jason and I tried to take "bump" pictures of me this week, but again, I just looked fat so I'm not posting them.  I guess I'm going to be more of a "Jessica Simpson" pregnant person rather than a "Giselle."  Go figure.  If only Weight Watchers would give me an endorsement deal after the baby...

Weekend Recap

Fun weekend.  So sad it's over.  I never get enough rest during the work week so I really look forward to catching up on rest every weekend.  Although we had a few things going on this weekend, I still feel well rested and ready to take on the week!

Friday
Jason and I attended the Fort Bend Medical Society Annual Casino Night & Gala.  I handle this group's social media plus it's great networking for my day job.  Although very tired, Jason and I had fun.  My mom and LE attended too.  Highlights of the evening were the food and getting to speak to Congressman Pete Olsen.  So mad I didn't take one picture!

Saturday
I worked the Ribbons & Rick Rack booth with Ashley at the Sugar Plum Market.  It was so fun to sell these super cute items and hang out with Ashley and her mom Elaine.  I even ran into a Perfect Catch Blog follower, Laura!  It's so funny how every year there is a "most popular" item that they sell.  Last year it was the holiday jars.  This year, the monogramed scarves!   At just $20 which includes the monogram, you can't find a better gift for a friend or family member.

Jason and I ended the night with our weekend ritual of Escalante's Mexican food!  I also rented the Five Year Engagement with Emily Blunt (love her!).  The movie isn't going to win any awards, but was cute and funny.

Sunday
Slept in, rested, and did a few things around the house.  Ended the day with Revenge and The Walking Dead, our favorite shows.

This week I'm most looking forward to our doctor's appointment on Wednesday and a Pi Phi Junior Group event at Well Done Cooking Classes.

Hope you have a great week!

Halloween 2012

We had an awesome Halloween in our new home last night.  After eating "Spooky Spaghetti with bloody meat sauce" for dinner we got the house all ready for trick-or-treaters.  This meant cue the fog machine, light the pumpkins, creepy music and monsters outside.

Jason even wore a mask.  After the first few groups of kids, we learned a couple of things:

1.  Tone down the scariness

At least in the earlier part of the night.  One mom said it was a little too scary.  We had one cry.  We didn't ditch the monsters, but Jason took off the mask and changed music from the Exorcist to something a little happier.  Less fog too.

Jason as an old, creepy man

2. 2-3 pieces of candy per person is the right amount

Jason gives out way too much candy!  He was giving each kid a huge fistful and I was scared we were going to run out of candy too early, so I limited it to one piece per kid, but then started getting dirty looks.  We ended up doing a two-fer dump per person!

3.  Only bring out your dressed-up dog if he is friendly
The most popular thing about our house was not all of the cool decorations, but Tucker dressed as Batman.  I brought him to the door each time to show him off, but then everyone wanted to pet him.  Tucker is fine with adults, but HATES kids so this made me so nervous.  He was awesome and didn't bite anyone.  Maybe he is trying to be more tolerant since he has a little sibling coming and he doesn't want to be shipped off to "the farm."

Tucker as Batman, 2012

I think he is smiling in this picture.  Probably because I didn't dress him up as a girl this year or make him wear headg gear.

4.  Turn off your lights by 9:00
After 9pm we started getting older teenagers who were mean!  The last group asked for more candy after we gave them a TON and then argued with Jason after he said no.  Then they griped that they wanted different candy....and we had the good stuff!  We turned the lights out after that and texted our neighbors a warning.

5.  Learn what the previous homeowners did to decorate
Several kids were disappointed that we didn't have spider webs everywhere.  We just thought lots of other houses did this or they thought that our inflatable spider needed a web.  Come to find out when we spoke to our neighbors that every year in the past, our house was decorated with spider webs and giant spiders on the house and gate.  Didn't mean to disappoint kiddos!  We know for next year.

Hope everyone had a great Halloween.  Now time for Thanksgiving!
