Happy Halloween!

We hope you have a wonderful {and safe} Halloween!  I'm so excited to be celebrating Jack's very first Halloween.  And of course I can't wait to pass out candy to all of the sweet trick-or-treaters tonight...one for me, one for you!  I'm in big trouble though this year because it's supposed to be very bad weather and I already bought 5 huge bags of chocolate.  If you brave the weather and come to my house you might get way more than a handful!

What are your plans?

Studio Ainsley captured these adorable images of my little elephant last weekend at their annual Costumed Cuties event.  Be sure and follow their Facebook page to be in the know about other fun upcoming events they are hosting.

Boo!

...and so done!

Wednesday Wishlist

I'm linking up with Annie and Morgan today for the very first Wednesday Wishlist link-up.  I love reading other people's wishlists {especially this time of year} to get gift giving ideas for my family and friends.  Hopefully you will link-up too.

Pampers&Pearls

For today's wishlist, I'm talking about mugs I love and want!  I think a mug is a great gift idea, especially when you fill it with a little happy...a sweet treat, hot chocolate mix, Starbucks giftcard or even some cozy socks for the ultimate pamper party.  Most people find comfort in their favorite cup of coffee or tea.  Make it that much more special for them with something new to sip from.

Eat Blog Love Mug by Crystal Faye, $18.00 (use code 1year for 25% off)

Oh Happy Day Mug by Crystal Faye, $18.00 (use code 1year for 25% off)

If you are a lover of mugs like me, it's not too late to sign up for the Autumn Mug Swap hosted by Dreaming of Dimples.  But hurry, sign up closes tomorrow, October 31.  Don't worry...you just have to sign up by tomorrow.  You then have until November 20 to get your mug out to your partner.  Count me in!

Dog Costume Fun

I have way too much fun dressing Tucker up for Hallowen each year. He hates it. I've been doing it every year since 2007and this year will be no exception! I will post pics of this year's costume on Friday.

I usually purchase his costumes from Target.  They are normally between $10-$15 and most years I waited until the day of to purchase so I got them on sale.  If you are creative you can certainly make your own.  I've seen some really creative ideas on Pinterest.

Are you dressing up your fur babies this year?

2008 - Dorothy - Halloween Spirit Store
2009 - Bumble Bee - Target

Who is ready for trick-or-treaters?  Halloween is less than one week away!  We are very ready to pass out candy over at our house and see our little boy and pup all dressed up.

Have you heard of Elfster.com?  I hadn't until just a few days ago.  My girlfriends and I from the Junior League do an annual cookie exchange party in December and decided to do a Secret Santa this year instead of an Ornament Exchange.  Elfster randomly selects your secret santa and allows you to make a wishlist so you can get something you are sure to like.  It's a really fun site!

I just updated the About Me section of the blog including links to my most popular posts.  If you are new to the blog check it out and get caught up.  And thanks for stopping by...be sure to say hello so I can check out your blog too!

If you live in Houston, are you buying a Holiday Shopping Card?  I think I am going to purchase one just for carseats!

I saw this cartoon earlier this week somewhere.  Can anyone else relate?  Obviously my house isn't quite so crazy since we only have one little guy, but it does take me significnatly longer to get ready each morning since I have someone else to clothe and feed.  Too funny!

Citrus Lane October Box Reveal

This is my second box to receive from Citrus Lane and we are now two for two with me (and Jack) loving it!  Read about September's box here.  Not only do I feel like I'm getting my money's worth, but it's also a great way to discover new products for Jack that are perfect for his age!

This month I received four products:

Elephant Shaker from Green Tones - This is a great little toy for Jack.  He is very curious and into grabbing things.  We are slightly obsessed with elephants right now so this toy could not be more perfect.  Retail value $13.99

Dive Bath Appliques from Boon - My favorite item in this box!  We used it immediately at bath time and Jack loves the bright colors.  Boon is one of my favorite brands.  We already have the Boon Flair HighchairLawn Drying Rack, and a few sippy cups we haven't busted out just yet.  This Boon Stuffed Animal Bag and Trunk Snack Box are all on Jack's Christmas List.  Retail value $10.99

Ez Grip Massaging Teether from Innobaby - I haven't tried this one out yet, but perfect timing for sure.  It is different than any other teether we have. Retail value $4.99

Gripe Water from Mommy's Bliss - I've never used gripe water, but it's nice to have it one hand in case the time comes when it's needed.  Retail value $12.49

Total retail value for October's Box:  $42.46
Total Spent:  $25.00

The cost per box for Citrus Lane is between $21-$25 depending on which membership you choose. I'm doing the month to month for $25/month. I love this option because you can cancel at anytime.

My obsession with elephants for Jack has now been taken over by an obsession with the fox.  Maybe for a play area?

Lucky me since everyone else is obsessed with the fox right now too!  Check out some of these fun fox finds that are on Jack's Christmas wishlist.

Halloween Pajama Party!

I'm linking up today with Darcy from The Good Life Blog and Meredith from The Tichenor Family Blog for a Halloween Pajama Party!

I've gone way overboard buying Jack Halloween outfits and PJ's.  I keep justifying it since it's his first Halloween!  Oh my goodness what will Christmas be like?  Regardless, we love Halloween in our family so it's been fun to dress Jack up and snap some pictures!

Carter's Skeleton PJ's - Jack about to read the book "Room on the Broom" from Baby G!

This was Jack's very first outfit given to me when I was just a few months pregnant by Pops and KK

Weekend Recap

We had a perfect weekend in San Antonio attending my company's annual company picnic at Fiesta Texas.  My mom and stepfather were there too and stayed at the Westin La Cantera with us..favorite place to stay in San Antonio!  Jason took the day off on Friday (gasp...he never does this) so we could leisurely get up there.  Traveling with a baby is MUCH different than the quick 3 hour trip we were used to.

Friday we made it to San Antonio around 4 and got settled into our room.  Since Jason works in the hotel industry we often get treated to room upgrades or other little perks.  We were not only "perked" this weekend, but full on pampered.  We were upgraded to a "casita," a private little house away from the actual hotel.  Since these are a bit of a walk from the hotel, each casita guest is given their own golf cart!  We were also greeted with wine and strawberries.  We were sort of pooped from traveling with Jack so all we did that evening was walk the gorgeous grounds, eat s'mores and order room service...oh, and we fit in some Dateline too.  Friday night perfection in my book!

Jack did great for his first time in a hotel sleeping in his Pack-n-Play.

Saturday we attended the company picnic at Fiesta Texas.  It was great to see everyone and fun to see the park dressed for Halloween.  After the picnic, the boys played golf and the girls (& Jack) did some shopping and lounging.  It was heaven!

Sunday we headed home and made a few stops along the way.  Bucees is a must.  I even ran into a friend from high school there.  We also had lunch at Schobels...chicken fried steak goodness!

Hope you had a great weekend too!

...And yes, I purchased the Ergo Baby Carrier I had on my wishlist just a few days prior!  It was heaven and I'm so happy I had it.  100% recommend if you like to baby carry.

Baby Proofing

Hope you had  a great weekend!  We had the best weekend in San Antonio for a quick little getaway.  I'm blogging over at Houston Moms Blog today about starting the baby proofing process in our home.

Catch ya later!

Five on Friday

--ONE--

Halloween costume crisis averted!  Word to the wise...try your costumes on before the big day.  I tried to get Jack's costume on him last weekend.  I purchased the elephant costume from Pottery Barn Kids months ago and have been so excited ever since.  It was plenty big so I never tried it on him.  PBK has a major design flaw in this particular costume and it was nearly impossible to get it through his arms.  Lots of screaming and tears later (from him, not me) I was so upset that Jack's perfectly planned costume wouldn't pan out.

Nanny to the rescue!  Our fabulous nanny first went shopping for a new costume for little man, but when she struck out decided to take the elephant apart and reconstruct him!  Success!  I'm so happy that the elephant will work out after all...especially since we just got Tucker's costume in to coordinate!

--TWO--

Speaking of, Tucker is going to be a lion this year all thanks to Ashlee, my scarf swap partner!  She was nice enough to pickup this costume for Tuck after I couldn't find his size anywhere.  I'm so thankful for my sweet, new friend and the wonderful world of blogging!

--THREE--

My little pumpkin is doing so much better this week.  Thanks for all of your sweet comments and notes last week.  It was determined that he is probably just teething.  Knowing its this and that he is healthy otherwise is a big comfort to me.  We've been giving him lots of cold teethers and some Tylenol at night when its too bad.  Anything work for you?

Feeling better, but so over the Texans losing streak

--FOUR--

We visited not one, but two pumpkin patches last Saturday.  We clearly are ready for fall!  Don't we look dressed for the season...in all actuality it was so hot and humid that day.  We were DYING in our fall clothes and quickly went home and changed into shorts and tees.

--FIVE--

Speaking of being ready for a change in season, we also had a fire going last weekend even though it was 80 degrees outside.  It was a rainy day so we turned the air conditioner down, drank pumpkin spice lattes and pretended it was cold.  Works for me!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
