Kendra Scott Pre-Fall 2012 Collection

Kendra Scott's Pre-Fall Items make their debut today at 5pm CST.  I am super jazzed about the earrings on the bottom right and the turquoise necklace!  They are calling this line Southwest-meets-Tribal.  If you are in Dallas or Austin, the Kendra Scott stores will be hosting a Girls Night Out Debut party for the line tonight.

Which item are you most excited about?

Matchy Matchy

Jason and I attended an event last Saturday that was themed "Havana Nights."  I tried to dress with the theme in mind and evidently had the exact same vision as the event planners because I matched the table linens perfectly!

I'll post more info and pictures from the evening soon!
Hope you're having a great Wednesday.

I Heart Kendra Scott

Earlier this month while in Austin for Maddie's wedding, Jason was kind enough to humor me and we went to the Kendra Scott store before heading home.  I've recently fallen in love with all things Kendra Scott so I was very excited to see her flagship store!

Beautiful store was very light and summery

The Color Bar to have pieces custom made

Loved that earrings were hanging from the little trees

We bought Jeanna, my sis-in-law a little something for taking care of Tucker that weekend.

For Jeanna, the new Sky earrings in Salmon.  The Sky earrings are the smaller and lighter version of Skylar.

And since we were there I figured I had to buy myself something too...the Elle earrings in Green.  I love my Danielle earrings, but these are great since they a bit smaller and lighter.  I'm able to wear them more including to work.  For my line of work, the Danielle's are little too flashy.
What are your Kendra Scott faves?

Lately

As I've mentioned before, J and I bought a house in Sugar Land and are currently doing a few updates before we move in.
It's been such an exciting process!  Right now the walls are getting painted, the floors are being refinished, replacing some carpet with wood (have I mentioned my carpet phobia before) and doing a bit of updating to the master bath...Project "Remove All Gold."

We have also been making very adult purchases like a refrigerator and washer/dryer.

Even though we don't live there yet, we visit often and have a couple of fun house moments worth mentioning:

-  Large turtle we found swimming in our pool last weekend!  I named him Sammy...I tend to name a lot of animals that.

-  Meeting Neighbors!  So far we've only met one set a neighbors, but they are the coolest!  While we were doing pool stuff on Saturday a couple with their precious daughter walked over to introduce themselves and welcome us.  They even brought us a six-pack of assorted Texas beers!  They are nice, our age and seemed like people Jason and I will be friends with.  How exciting, especially coming from a huge apartment complex where the idea of getting to know neighbors is lost on everyone.

I can't wait to move and show you around.  Here are a few peeks for now...

Tucker surveying the work

We've Jason had to learn how to take care of a pool.

Sometimes we feel like we are moving to the jungle!  There was a a crazy bird attack going on in the trees last week.  We also learned that a neighbor close to our house found a 4 foot alligator in the bushes!

Erin Condren Updated Life Planners for 2012-13

They're back and feature major improvements!

If you are a fan of Erin Condren's Facebook page, then you probably saw the message that the Life Planners are available as of today at 12:00 p.m. for pre-order.

The base price for a Erin Condren Life Planner is still $50.00, but EC now offers various add-ons for an additional charge.  As you can read above, the new planners now come with laminated monthly tabs, a sturdier aluminum coil and a laminated bookmark/ruler.  It's like Erin Condren read my mind on items that needed improvement!  There are also new cover options available along with last year's classic favorites.

Optional Add-Ons with prices:
-  Choice of 18-month (add $5.00) or 12-month (no charge)
-  Choice of start month (no extra charge)
-  Photo Stickers (you upload up to 30 images) - $5.00
-  Colorful pen set - $8.95
-  Personalized notepads - $18.00
-  Adhesive pen holder - $2.50
-  120 Extra tab stickers - $3.00

If you added every option available your Life Planner would be $92.45 + Shipping.  My estimated standard shipping was around $8.50 just to give you an idea.  I haven't ordered anything yet.

I want to hear your thoughts!  Do you plan to order a new Erin Condren Life Planner?  If so, what bells and whistles will you purchase?  If no, what's holding you back?

Happy Life Planning,
Chelsea

Madelyn + Stephen Wedding Weekend

Last weekend we drove up to Austin to attend Madelyn and Stephen's wedding!  Madelyn is one of the wonderful ladies that I met through the Houston Junior League during our provisional year as Saturday volunteer waitresses.  The whole gang was able to make the wedding, husbands included!
Maddie literally thought of every single detail from the goody bag at check-in to the favors.  Definitely one of the best weddings I have ever been to.  Jason's favorite part was the venue.  The wedding and reception were at the University of Texas Golf Club.  It really was a perfect setting with perfect weather.  My favorite part of the wedding was the music.  There was beautiful ceremony music, an awesome quartet during cocktail hour and large band for the reception that played nothing but oldies.

First dance

All the girls!

I clearly didn't take this photo bc you can see us on the other side of the dance floor.  Erin are you crying??

Madelyn even got on stage to sing!

Best favor ever!  Since Madelyn and Stephen are moving to Boston, it read "Texas Born, Boston Bound" and included a Brisket Taco and Boston Baked Beans.

Congratulations Madelyn and Stephen!
We'll let you get settled in Boston first, but we look forward to visiting for our "Boston Tea-Room Party"!!!

Junior Mint Cake

We all remember the Seinfield episode, appropriately titled "The Junior Mint" in which Kramer and Jerry get to observe a surgery taking place from a gallery above.  Kramer is enjoying a box a Junior Mints during the procedure and accidentally drops one into the patient's body.

This pretty much sums up my love of Junior Mints.  Also read here and here.  You can usually find at least 3 boxes in my house at any given time.  Both my mom and dad feel the same way about this candy so I guess I was destined to love them too.  I'm not sure I've watched a movie in the last few years without eating a box of them.

For my dad's birthday, his coworker, Susan has made him a Junior Mint Cake for the past 2 years.  This year I not only had to get the recipe, but I wanted to share it with you:

Bundt Cake (From Mix)
From cooks.com
Ingredients:
-  1 pkg. cake mix
-  1 (4 serving) pkg. instant pudding
-  1/3 cup oil
-  1 cup water
-  4 eggs
Blend.  Mix at medium speed for 2 minutes.  Bake at350 degrees for 50-60 minutes.  Cool for 25 minutes.  Invert onto plate.

Notes from Susan: Make it how you like...chocolate cake mix with chocolate pudding, white mix with vanilla pudding, etc.

Chocolate Mint Sauce
From cooks.com
Ingredients:
-  6 oz. Junior Mints (two 3 oz. pkgs.)
-  1 tbsp. butter
-  2 tbsp. milk
1.  In microwave bowl, combine all ingredients.  Cook on high 1-1.5 minutes or until mixture is hot.  Stir until sauce is smooth OR combine ingredients in small saucepan and stir over low heat until smooth.
2.  If making cake, drizzle onto the cake.  Other ideas: serve warm as a sauce for ice cream, banana splits and sundaes or on cake slices with fruit.  Makes about 2/3 cup.
NOTE:  Recipe may be doubled; increase microwave time to 2.5 minutes.

Notes from Susan:  On the icing, I like a lot, so I used 2 of the 12oz boxes of Junior Mints!

Thanks Susan for this recipe!  I can't wait to try it!
