Rodan + ROSES :: Giveaway for a $100 Nordstrom Giftcard & More

It's no secret that I LOVE anything Bachelor.  Just call me a lifetime member of Bachelor Nation!  I even attended a meet and greet with Bachelorette contestants back in college {can we say ultimate fangirl}.

When I started working with Rodan + Fields I knew that I had to incorporate these two loves into a fun promotion.  Every week that there is a Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise {my fave} on ABC, I offer something fun!

This week is double the fun since there are two episodes.  Tonight is MEN TELL ALL!!!

All Preferred Customer orders placed today will receive this Bachelor tank AND if you are a new Preferred Customer, I will pay back your $20 enrollment fee!

AND...for a fun little huge bonus since I'm in Nordstrom Anniversary Sale heaven currently, all orders placed this week will go into a drawing for a $100 Nordstrom Giftcard - what?!?  Read my latest Houston Moms Blog post for my top picks!

So get those Preferred Customer orders in by midnight on July 31 to be included in this drawing!  If you have been thinking about trying R+F, now is an awesome time!

If you want to place an order, but have no idea where to begin, you can email me at chelsea.m.purifoy {at} gmail {dot} com, leave a comment below or take my skin solutions skin!  I can then help recommend the best products to start with based on your skincare needs and budget.

A great product to start with is the Multi-Function Eye Cream to help reduce puffiness, dark under-eye circles, fine lines and the appearance of crows-feet around your delicate eye area.  It feels great and one little jar will last you around 4 months!  It's so effective that beauty guru and Bachelor alum Michelle Money just recommended it as one of her favorite beauty products and helpful step when applying undereye concealer!!!

Sephora Wishlist

Tomorrow is the last day that Beauty Insiders can get 15% their entire purchase so of course I'm planning my shopping bag in my head.  Although I can't justify buying everything listed {or even close to it}, here are five items that I would love to try - all perfect for transitioning your look for spring and summer.

Benefit Cheekathon Blush & Bronzer Palette

I love Benefit's Hoola bronzer and Dallas blush, plus I've been wanting to try their Dandelion blush so why not get all of these in one plus two more colors - all are full size!

Benefit Hoola Bronzing and Contouring Brush

This item is actually sold out online currently but maybe they still have some in stores.  I need a better bronzer/contouring brush and this one looks fun!

Burberry Eye Palette

This eye palette is stupid expensive, but I've just heard that Burberry shadows are amazing quality.  I own a few of the Urban Decay palettes that are $54 and honestly while you can justify the price in your head since it's a large palette with tons of colors, I only end up using a few of them.  It might be worth investing in a nicer palette that I truly love...plus this will take up less space and maybe I can do a palette clean out!  I have my eye on the Gold and the Mocha versions.

NARS Hot Sand Illuminator

I've heard great things about this product from both personal friends and bloggers.  Most people mix this with their foundation for a glowy skin finish.  This seem perfect for spring and summer.

YSL Lipstick

Another popular item that is getting a lot of buzz lately are these YSL lipsticks.  I have not tried them so I can't speak about the formulation, but I've heard it's creamy and moisturizing with a lot of color payoff.

What else should I add to my list?
Have you shopped the sale yet?
What did you score or plan to purchase?

And don't miss my post on Houston Moms Blog about doing a spring beauty refresh with both splurges and steals.

Too Good Not To Share

I'm starting a new blog series called Too Good Not To Share.  It's just a simple round-up of blog posts and articles from the week that are just too good not to share with you.  Hopefully this will help you find some new blogs to love or give you inspiration in your life.

And if you're thinking..."really Chelsea, a blog posts linking other blog posts.  Kinda lazy huh?"  Yes - it might be, but I genuinely love sharing content from my favorite bloggers that inspire me.  If I don't have the time to write an amazing post each day, this is the next best thing.  I hope you enjoy!

Thoughts for Thursday :: Recent Beauty Favorites

Urban Decay Naked Ultra Nourishing Lipgloss in Beso
I can't stand lip gloss, but I LOVE this stuff!  I tried it on a whim after reading how much Veronika loved it.  It isn't sticky like a regular gloss, is moisturizing and although it has a plumper in it, does not sting.  I really like the Beso color for spring.  It has a hint of a berry/plum on my lips.  I would love to try another color too - I love it that much!

Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien
This lip pencil was the Sephora Beauty Insider birthday gift for 2015 and I love it so much I recently ordered the full size pencil.  It's soft and a great "your lips but better" pink shade.  Great for weekends and casual wear when you want something on your lips, but don't want to look made-up.

Tory Burch Jolie Fleur Bleue Perfume
Our beloved Tory Burch recently released three new floral frangrances - Jolie Fleur Bleue, Verte and Rose.  The scent expert at my local Sephora described them to me as follows: Bleue is warm, Rose is classic and Verte is fresh.  Just for fun you can take this quiz and find out which of the three scents is right for you!

Beautycounter Color Shade Eye Duo in Oyster/Amethyst
I was getting sick of wearing the same taupes/browns on my eyes so I have recently added this neutral purple into my eye game.  It's very fun for spring!  This is my first makeup piece from Beautycounter to try and I love it.  Although it's a traditional powder eye-shadow, it feels so velvety on and the color payoff is excellent.  P.S.  If you need a Beautycounter consultant, let me know!  I'm not one, but I know a great one who is very knowledgeable.

Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner
I still love my Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner.  It's stupid expensive for shampoo, but I do not use it for every wash since it is so hydrating so a bottle lasts me for months.  Love the smell, but most importantly it makes my hair so soft and shiny.  On the days I use it, I get compliments on how healthy my hair looks.

Five on Friday :: Things I'm Loving & A Few Busts

Happy Friday!  Jason and I are super excited today because we just learned Coffee Bean's gender!  I plan to announce it next week...I know that's just mean of me!  We still need time to tell the rest of our family and let it sink in.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I wanted to share a few things that I've been just loving lately.

ONE:  Beauty

Rose Salve Lip Balm
This stuff was raved by Shay of Mix and Match Mamahttp://www.shullfamily.blogspot.com/ so I added it to my shopping cart last time I placed a Nordstrom order and now I love it!  I primarily use it on my lips but you can use for cuticles or any dry spots on your body!  Don't worry mom...you may find this in your Mother's Day gift (she is obsessed with anything rose and I know would order it if I didn't tell her that)!

Clinique "Pop Lip" Color & Primer
I'm loving these new lipsticks by Clinique because they are moisturizing and have great color pay-off.  They are not long-lasting, but do their job and stay on long enough.  I have Love Pop and Cherry Pop.  My next buy will be Bare Pop!

TWO:  Tech

iPhone 6 Plus &
iPhone 6 Plus Case by Rifle Paper Co. {Transparent Clear Rosa}
Jason bought me a new iPhone last week.  I totally didn't need one, but he negotiated some sort of deal when he was getting himself a new phone so why not!  I opted for the larger iPhone 6 Plus thinking I would enjoy the larger screen for images, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook...all the essentials for a blogger.  It honestly took some getting used to, but now I LOVE it.  If you don't have a tablet that you use often this is a great compromise.

And on top of loving my beautiful gold phone, I'm loving this case by Rifle Paper Co. recommended by Kristina of Pretty Shiny Sparkly.  I love that you can still see the beautiful phone with a little extra pop, just perfect for spring.

THREE:  Baby

Honest Bowtie Diaper Print
I mean, how can you not love this adorable print on a chubby toddler bum!  I bought mine at Target.

FOUR:  Clothing

Denim Jacket
My denim jacket is a few years old from Old Navy (regular sizing), but now that I'm pregnant have been putting it in heavy rotation lately with maternity tops and dresses.  It's perfect to pair with spring tops when you are in a chilly store or office.  Mine is a super dark denim so it looks great with black pants, dresses, or even lighter denim on the bottom.  Would also look amazing paired with white pants.

FIVE:  Office

Day Designer
My Day Designer has not left my side since I started using is on January 1.  I actually left it at home a few days ago and felt lost the entire day without it.  Couldn't love it more and highly recommend!

And what's a favorites list without a few busts ::

Clinique All About Eyes Serum De-Puffing Eye - this product was raved about from Kate of The Small Things Blog.  As a toddler mom and now expecting, I'm always tired so the thought of a cooling eye pen seemed perfect!  Although, the roller ball does feel good when applying, it doesn't do a thing for de-puffing in my opinion.  Jason even tried this one a few times when he had some eye bags and thought the same thing.  Seems like a waste of money!

The Dry Bar "Morning After" Shower Cap - I purchased this shower cap on a whim without reading the reviews on sephora.com.  After using this for a few weeks, I can confirm that the negative reviews were 100% accurate.  This shower cap is great for totally covering your hair, but poorly designed.  The lining on the inside does not dry completely (I tried everything except drying it in my dryer after each use because that seems excessive).  After just a few uses, it started to smell like mold and went in the trash! Waste of money.

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Cover-Ups - I was able to snag a few Lilly Pulitzer for Target cover-ups that I was coveting through a LFT Facebook page, however once I had them in hand they weren't that great.  The print, colors and material were all great.  The fit was HUGE on the kaftan and looked like I was wearing an old lady nightgown.  I'm sure all of the other Lilly for Target stuff is great, but if you are frustrated that you haven't scored a coverup yet, don't waste your time.  Luckily I was able to sell mine!

Five on Friday :: Beauty Haul

What a long week this has been!  My weeks are crazy enough just going to work everyday, but this week in particular has been hard because we've been juggling Jason's school and tutoring schedule in the evenings with some things I've had in the evenings too.  Wednesday night we were double-booked and had to get childcare which I hate doing on weeknights since Jack is already away from us during the day and last night I didn't get home until after 11:30...whoa!  That's life though and we all are surviving.

Despite being tired and feeling guilty for my lack of time at home, I'm still super excited to attend the Thrive Blog Conference tomorrow.  I originally planned to attend the Friday evening portion and even had a hotel room at the conference hotel, but I decided to do a little compromise and spend Friday evening at home wit my family.  I will be cursing this decision come Saturday morning when I'm leaving my house super early.

Today I wanted to share a few beauty products that I've recently added to my collection!  What's more fun than beauty products on a Friday???

ONE

The item that I actually on my Sephora shopping list was the Nars Audacious Lipstick in Michiyo.  Although pricey, I've hearrd nothing but good things about this line of lipstick.  I saw someone with similar coloring to me wearing this shade on Instagram  so I wanted to give it a shot - plus I thought it might work for my upcoming HMB photoshoot.

This lipstick is beautiful.  It's very creamy, feels great and the color payoff is amazing.  It doesn't dry out even after hours of wear!  I will say that once you put it on, it's on for awhile so I hope you like it.  I sampled it last night around 8pm and it was still somewhat on the next morning - and that was after washing my face and scrubbing.  I finally got the rest off using eye makeup remover.

TWO

The next two items were not on my radar until I read about them on Shay's blog earlier this week

I picked up the Dr. Dennis Gross Glow Pads at Sephora (the regular version, not extra strength).  I have only used them once so far, but I'm really happy with this purchase.  I put this on at night before going to bed {just a tip...if you have white pillowcases, lay a towel down before going to sleep}.  So happy I remembered to do that!

Anyway, the next day you could definitely see a difference!  I felt a little orange with a few streaks on my neck, however I used a little face scrub in the shower and the streaks were gone.  Once I had my makeup on, I was very pleased with the results.  I will probably only apply this once a week so I don't become an oompa loompa.

THREE

I also wanted to try the DryBar's Triple Sec since I read it triples as a volumizer, texturizer and dry shampoo.  Yes, yes, and yes!  The smell is amazing and it delivers as promised.  Love this stuff and am a convert!

FOUR

While I was in the DryBar section of Sephora, I noticed that had a huge shower cap so I picked this up too on a whim.  I was in major need of a new shower cap as mine is a few years old and starting to get funky despite washing it often.  I guess it had seen too many dirty hair days.  I haven't used this item yet, but it looks awesome after pulling it out of the box.  This does have mixed reviews online so I will report back after I've used it for a few weeks.

FIVE

Last, I picked up the Laura Mercier eyelash curler the last time I was at Nordstrom because of a great recommendation from Ashley.  I actually haven't even tried this one yet, but I will let you know what I think, most likely via Instagram.

I hope you have a great weekend!  I'm sure I will be posting pictures like crazy tomorrow at the conference on Instagram {@ChelseaPurifoy}

xoxo

Five on Friday :: Beauty Routines

TGIF!  Sorry for the late post.  I'm still recovering from all the tears shed and sadness that the final Parenthood episode brought last night.  I loved how they ended it though.  There was so much goodness, but my favorite lines always come from Max :: "selfies are killing our industry"

I seem to have had lots of new stuff going on with my beauty routine so I thought that would be the theme of today's Five on Friday!

ONE

My favorite everyday, gentle cleanser that I use is Aveeno's Foaming Facewash {I've used and like both versions}.  It really seems to get all the makeup off without over-drying or irritating my skin.

TWO

I'm currently using Estee Lauder's Double Wear Light Foundation and Matte Perfecting Primer.  LOVE the primer.  Like the foundation.  I could probably do better, but I'm lazy and don't feel like experimenting on something new.  After Kate of The Small Things Blog posted about her love for the Double Wear All Day Glow BB Cream I'm anxious to try it on days on don't need to be quite as made-up.

What is your favorite foundation and/or BB Cream?

THREE

Ulta's anticipated 20% off entire purchase coupon expires tomorrow if you are still holding onto one.  I used mine today for a few new makeup brushes.  Most of my brushes (while great) are super old and starting to shed little hairs all over my face.  Not a good look.

Anyone else love Real Techniques brushes?  If you aren't familiar, they are great brushes at affordable, drugstore prices (the Core Collection is $18 for 4 brushes + case).  The brand recently launched a "Bold Metals" collection that is exclusive to Ulta and stirred some controvery because they are a higher quality line of their popular brushes so some fans of the brand were upset that they were leaving their affordable roots behind.

It's always great to have options people!  The bold metals collection runs from $16-$26 per brush so a little closer to what a MAC brush would run you, but still cheaper than super high end like Nars.  There are 7 brushes total in the collection: 2 Gold (Foundation brushes), 2 Rose Gold (Finishing brushes) and 3 Silver (Eye brushes).

FOUR

I also recently discovered Anastasia Brow Products...I know, where have I been!  I've heard the hype, but never looked into it.  While my mom and I were browsing Macy's last week, an Anastasia rep was there and did our brows.  Not only did we end up loving the Brow Wiz pencil that I originally wanted to try, but also grabbed the Tinted Brow Gel and the Brow Duality Pencil which features a matte and shimmer highlight that is so easy to apply.

FIVE

I'll end this post with a funny, little story for ya!  I had the most embarrassing visit to the dermatologist this week. It was a new doctor who came highly recommended...and it didn't help that he isn't bad looking. I wanted a "skin check" since it has been awhile and I severely abused tanning beds in my younger years. I had to strip down to just my skivvies and lay underneath an ultra light and have him and a nurse comb my body and discuss their findings. I don't mean to scare you about the dermatologist...it's a necessary thing! The staff and doc couldn't have been more nice, professional and quick, but when I get embarrassed or just hot my chest and neck break out in a hives-looking rash. I promise I can't even feel it, but it looks painful.

The only thing that makes it worse is when people point it out to me. Which of course is what the nurse and doc did, while looking at me in horror shock. I told them that's just what happens to me...it also happens when I drink sometimes or in the summer when I walk out of an air-conditioned building to my super hot car it's hives city.

Even though I left feeling less than stellar about my self esteem, I was put on a great skincare routine to help combat some of the signs of aging (and sun damage) on my face that is still gentle enough if and when I get pregnant again.

And a piece of advice when going for a visit - wash your hair! I was rocking dirty hair curls, which looked adorbs until he had to check all through my scalp, followed by asking me if I'm generally oily. Not unless I don't wash my hair doc!

Have a great weekend!

Beauty Product Hauls: Hits, Misses and Old Faithfuls

Over the last few months I've purchased a handful of items at Ulta, Sephora and the drugstore.  I also got motivated and cleaned out my makeup and beauty products drawers so I could re-discover all of the good stuff I already had!  I've stumbled upon lots of hits and just a few misses.

I also included my old faithful products that I use everyday no matter what look I'm going for.  I have fun playing with my eyes or {usually} lips keeping everything else the same day-to-day.

Hits

Too Faced Natural Eye Neutral Eye Shadow Collection -If you like neutral shades, this is a must-have.  Great mix of matte and shimmer in a compact tin case.  Too Faced shadow stays on all day and goes on easy, blending well.  I prefer this shadow over my Naked Palettes (gasp)!

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Double Ended Eye Pencil - goes on easy, stays on all day even in the Houston heat and I love that there are 2 colors in one pencil! Great for travel.

Urban DecayAll Nighter Long Lasting-Makeup Setting Spray - I thought this was sort of gimicky and an unnecessary step in my makeup application, however I really think it works.  For the past 2 weeks, I've used this product off and on to see if it's really making a difference and it is.  Perfect for the Houston heat when normally your makeup sweats off your face in a hour!

NYX Cream Blush - I love this long-lasting cream blush on days that I'm not doing a full face of makeup, but don't want to scare small children.  There are a ton of colors to choose from, but I went with a brighter shade (Glow) to give me a flushed look.  If I'm running errands on the weekend I might just do this, concealer and mascara.

Revlon Colorstay Moisure Stain (Barcelona Nights, Shanghai Sizzle, Cannes Crush) - LOVE this line.  I want every single color.  The three colors are have are bright and vibrant, stay on longer than most lip products and feels light.  It has a great, glossy look without the stickiness.

Also loving the NYX Butter Gloss and Maybelline Color Elixir.  Both are very similar to Revlon Moisture Stain - all around the same price point, great color pay off and glossy look.  Moisture Stain does last longer and is my favorite.

Misses

Urban Decay Pulp Fiction Eye Palette {not pictured} - I ordered this eye shadow palette online not out of my love of the movie (I've never seen it), but out of my love for a neutral, matte palette.  This was a miss for me not for the actual makeup, but the packaging.  It is HUGE, but with very little actual makeup.  It was too large for my makeup bag so back it went.  Instead try: Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette  If you want something similar, but less compact, .  And it's cheaper!

Maybelline Eye Studio Tattoo Eyeshadow - This shadow is very similar to Mac's Paint Pots for a fraction of the price.  It's actually not a bad product, but I've been spoiled by Mac and prefer their version.  The color I tried - Bronze to the Bone - didn't have the color payoff I was looking for and did not last all day.  It also melted into my crease as the day went on.

Maybelline Pumped Up Colossal Mascara - This was just okay.  Nothing special.  Seemed to lengthen a little, but did not add any fullness.  Instead try: L'Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga.

Too Faced Melted Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Coral.  I've heard great reviews by beauty bloggers on this product so I decided to try it despite the $21 price tag.   This is typically more than I will spend on a lip product.  I was not impressed.  It was very dry and smeared easily.  Instead try Revlon Moisture Stain (see above) in Cannes Crush.

Old Faithfuls
