Stock the Bar

I am co-hosting a wedding shower for a couple that are dear friends of me and Jason.  My contribution for this shindig was the invitations.  So, I called up Ashley and her biz, Ribbons and Rickrack to design and print them.

They turned out so great!

We paired this invite with a cute red envelope and the King & Queen of Hearts stamp (below).

Anytime you need invites, business cards, luggage tags, or a new blog design check out Ribbons and Rickrack!  Hope you are having a great week.

Bye, Bye House!

Jason and I sold our house!!!!!!!!!  And, it was only on the market for a few weeks!  We are so lucky and blessed.

The catch - we found out this weekend that we have to be out by this Friday!!!!  We thought it was literally impossible, but we put our heads together and are somehow making it happen.

I couldn't be more excited though.  It was a great little house for our first year of marriage, but I'm so ready to get closer in town!  If you remember, I moved in to this house that Jason has owned for 6 years after we got married.  It made sense for us at the time and we made it cute, but I never really warmed up to it.

We found a great apartment in the middle of town.  There is so much around it that is within walking distance and I LOVE it!  We plan to do the urban thing for a few years before kiddo time.

Gotta run so we can get everything together.  Oh and did I mention that I just started a new job so this is not the best time for a rushed move.

A Twilight Weekend

Prior to this weekend, I had not read or seen any of the books or movies in the Twilight series.  I actually started the first book a year ago, but it never grabbed me so I gave up.  With the buzz going around the media this week about the third movie in the series of four opening in theatres, I wanted in.

Thanks to the lovely movie club that Jason got us into, we actually owned both Twilight and New Moon.  Jason saw them both, but was a good sport about joining in on my Twilight marathon weekend.

So, Saturday night we watched...

Sunday morning we watched...

And tonight, instead of watching July 4 fireworks, we went to our fave spot, Alamo Drafthouse and watched...

I know this isn't news to anyone who has been on the Twilight train since the start, but here are my takeaways:

-  Bella is an annoying character.  I'm sorry, but she is!  She is too whiny for me to handle and way too co-dependent.  Come on Bella- be happy with yourself.  The only time she was happy or comfortable in any of the movies was when she was with a man.
-  I am Team Edward, not Team Jacob...what can I say, I like the more dangerous "Bad Boy" instead of the "Good Guy."
-  Eclipse was my fave.  I loved the fight scenes and the vampires joining forces with the werewolves.

And finally, yes, I'm sure the books are better than the movies, but I don't want to go through all that. I am considering reading the final book, Breaking Dawn, so I can know what happens much sooner than waiting a year for the movie. Thoughts?  Would I be okay to read the fourth book even though I didn't read the first three?
