See You Next Week!

We are off to Estes Park, Colorado for a long weekend away.  We were there last September and are so excited to go back!  I'm hoping for less bear sightings (at least the up close ones) this time.

Our plan is to relax, do lots of walking, eating, being outside and tons of family time. My personal goal is to get some reading in, pickup a few things for Coffee Bean at a little boutique I fell in love with last trip and at least one adult-only meal with my handsome hubby. I also hope to have lots of chipmunk spottings for Jack who will appreciate it more this trip.

If you have any Estes Park recommendations, please send them my way!

Wish us luck for another round of flying with a toddler!  I have snacks galore and a million Mickey and Diego episodes loaded on the iPad.  Follow along on our trip on Instagram @ChelseaPurifoy

Have a great weekend - see you next week!

I'm over on Houston Moms Blog today sharing lots of links for great pieces I've found to keep my growing bump cool, but still looking good this summer!

Happy Tuesday!

Five on Friday :: Book Club, Boys, Yoga Pants & Eye Shadow Palettes

It's Fri-Yay!  I'm looking forward to a somewhat relaxing weekend and getting to celebrate all of the amazing Dad's in my life - my husband included!

ONE

Ever since becoming a mom, I haven't been much of a reader.  I hate this, but between lack of sleep and trying to juggle too many things, it seems that every night when I climb into bed {when I would normally read} I'm just too tired and only want to sleep or turn on mindless TV.

This week I started The Girl on the Train and was instantly hooked.  I've been reading on my lunch break in my car, while Jack watches a cartoon in the afternoon and of course before bed.  I'm reading it as a part of Houston Mom's Blog Summer Book Club - it's a virtual book club so feel free to join in, even if you're not local!

TWO

We had our 20 week anatomy scan yesterday!  All looked good and he's definitely a boy!

THREE

Hello toddler.  Why does my baby Jack look so grown up all of the sudden?  He is super into books these days.  Anything with cars, trucks, animals or the alphabet!

FOUR

I'm looking for some maternity yoga capri pants to workout in, run errands and for an upcoming trip to Colorado where I know we will be doing lots of hiking.  Any recommendations on where to shop?

My last pregnancy I was able to make due with my regular size Lululemon capris (I may have sized up), but this time they just aren't cutting it.  It's too uncomfortable to wear the waistband under my belly and if I try to put the band over my belly I feel like I'm suffocating Coffee Bean - ha!

I just ordered these workout pants, but would love backup options in case they don't work.  More than I wanted to spend, but the reviews were all great so fingers crossed I will agree!

FIVE

I've been using the Too Faced Natural Eyes Palette for at least 6 months.  I love it and use it almost everyday.  I love it so much that I've already hit pan on some of the colors.  I intended to reorder, until I learned that they have a similar palette in all matte colors - Too Faced Natural Matte Palette!  I love a good shimmer here and there, but I have plenty of options already when I want a little sparkle.

If you like natural matte shades, similar to the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette {which I also love} you should check this one out!

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Father's Day!

Thoughts on Thursday :: 2 Year Old Favorites

Jack {25 months} is into a lot these days, but there are a few items that keep his attention better than the others that I wanted to share with you.  He is also still a huge fan of his "friends" - stuffed animals that he plays with, talks to and sleeps with.  Right now his favorites are a giant stuffed shark and whale.  They must be in his crib on either side of him and he loves to make them kiss!

We received a lot of these items for his second birthday and I've given a handful of these too in case you need some gift-giving ideas for a two year old tot!

1.  Melissa & Doug Wooden Tool Kit
2.  Fisher Price Junior T-Ball Set
3.  Fisher Price Little People City Skyway

4.  Alphabet Books :: Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, B is for Breakdancing Bear & Animal Alphabet
5.  Sticker Books - This brand of sticker books is the best!  They are colorful and large stickers.  Jack loves to stick them all over himself, in coloring books and all over the house.  Lucky for us they peel off very easily.
6.  Anything Car & Truck Related

7.  Pirate Step Stool - Jack is absolutely loving being able to climb up in his bathroom and wash his own hands and brush his teeth.  Since he is so into sharks and whales these days, I decided to decorate his bathroom in a nautical theme with taupe and aqua colors.  This step stool goes perfectly with everything I have!  Jack loves the colorful pictures and I love that the top stair also opens for extra storage.
8.  Aqueduck Products like the Faucet Extender and Handle Extender

9.  Jake's Talking Spyglass
10. Play-Dough Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Mouskatools Set

Stitch Fix Review #5 :: Maternity Edition!

I just received my 5th Stitch Fix Box, but this time requested maternity items!  I was super pumped to see what the new Maternity Stitch Fix was all about and I was pleasantly surprised.

You can read my other Stitch Fix experiences below:
Box #1
Box #2
Box #3 - Epic fail...I still need to post this one!
Box #4

What is Stitch Fix?

For those of you who aren't familiar with Stitch Fix, it is a styling service that sends you 5 pieces of clothing and/or accessories pulled specifically for you. Once you receive the items you can try on, take pictures and see how they will work into your wardrobe - all in the comfort of your own home.  You have three days to decide to keep the items or send them back.  If you keep all five items you will receive 20% off the entire purchase.  If you send all 5 items back you lose your $20 stylist fee that would have been applied to your purchase.  Everyone fills out a style and fit questionnaire, but you can be as picky or open as you want in your communications to your stylist.  Stitch Fix recently launched both Maternity and Petite options!

So what did I receive and keep?

ONE :: Stitch Fix Brand 3-Pack Maternity Cami, $44.00 - SENT BACK
Love the idea of sending this long length cami set as part of the maternity box, however these are "one size fits most" and I did not fall into the "most" category - at least not comfortably.  Would be perfect for a size XS, S or maybe a M person.  Love the colors, stretch and length, but these just didn't work because of the sizing.  They were skin tight on me, plus I already have a brand of camis I own and love in multiple colors.

TWO :: Mavi Freida Maternity Jean, $98.00 - SENT BACK
Again, a great maternity jean is a staple in any pregnant gals wardrobe, but I just didn't need these.  I already have and love several pairs from Gap that fit me better {and were cheaper} so this item was an easy pass for me.  Thank goodness since $98 seems steep for maternity jeans.  Also note that these are full panel which I find gets way too hot for the summer.  I prefer demi-panel items.  Let that belly breathe!

THREE :: Gilli Alina Printed Maxi Skirt, $58.00 - KEPT
In my note to my stylist I requested a maternity maxi dress.  While my stylist didn't come through on a dress, she sent this maxi skirt which is the next best thing...maybe better since I don't currently have a maxi skirt.  While it might not be the most flattering piece of maternity clothing to my body, it's cool, so comfortable and I love the colors!  This is a must keep and because of the great stretch, will grow with me!  I can see myself dressing it up for church or dressing it down lounging around the house or running errands.   In the pictures, I just paired the skirt with this v-neck black maternity tee I already owned.

In the picture on the right, I tied the skirt in a knot (as suggested on the Stitch Fix Facebook Page) to help with the length and give it a fresh twist!

FOUR :: Pale Sky Lottie Pleated Maternity Blouse, $68.00 - KEPT
Love this top {don't mind the wrinkles, it just came out of the box}!  Love the color and I don't have anything in my {maternity} closet this color.  It has a perfect, long length and is very breezy and light for the summer.  I can easily dress it up or down for work or play.  So while I think $68 is highway robbery for a top of this quality, I went ahead and kept it knowing that it will get lots of wear...that is where Stitch Fix gets you.  Even if you think the price is a little much, you already have it in your closet just waiting to be worn so it's hard to say no!

I plan to wear with some neon yellow pieces {here} I already own for a fun, weekend look!

FIVE  :: Papermoon Bankside Split Neck Tunic, $64.00 - SENT BACK
I like the idea of this tunic.  Very earthy and bohemian and I think on the right person it would be really beautiful for some outdoor maternity pics, however it just wasn't working for me.  The long sleeves are not going to work in this Houston heat and the maternity wasn't very breathable.  There was no stretch either so it wouldn't grow with me in the coming months.  Easy pass.

FINAL THOUGHTS ::  I am very happy with my first maternity Stitch Fix.  My hope was that I'd end up with at least one item that I loved so to end up with two that I know I will wear a lot this summer is great!  I highly recommend at least giving Stitch Fix a try.  All you have to lose is $20, but the experience is so fun.  With most of my boxes I ended up keeping at least one item, so then you don't lose that $20 styling fee.  Please let me know if you have any questions about the service.  I do recommend adding as many notes as you can to your stylist in order to get a box that you will love.
If you want to give Stitch Fix a try, you can use my referral link here to sign-up.
Note that I will receive a $25 credit if you sign-up.  Hopefully then someone will do the same for you...it's like subscription box karma!

Pregnancy #2 Update :: 18 Weeks

How far along: 18 weeks
Size of Coffee Bean:  6.70 inches, 5.59 ounces (according to Pregnancy App)
Fruit/vegetable comparison: Bell Pepper
Gender:  Another Baby Boy!
Showing: Oh yes!
Maternity clothes:  100% Maternity pants and 80/20 in tops and dresses
Unglamorous body changes:  Large and {so not} in charge
Sleep:  Much better...except that one night when Jack was up all night from another fun ear infection
Movement:  Small flutters every once in a while
Food cravings: Black tea lemonade from Starbucks, ice water, ice cream...basically anything cold!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No
Wedding rings on or off: Engagement ring is on, but my stack of other two rings is too tight when worn together.
Mood: Rather emotional
Best moment this week:  Spending lots of one-on-one time with Jack while his nanny was on vacation.  It was exhausting, but good!  I was able to take him to a Houston Moms Blog Playdate, visit my office and a long walk on Monday.  Unfortunately we also had to make a trip to his pediatrician and pharmacy for another ear infection, but I'm glad I was available to be there for all of that.  He gave me extra kisses yesterday and was super clingy so I think he enjoyed time with me too!
Strange experiences: Can't think of anything
Milestones: Almost halfway there.  Our current plan is to have a c-section at 39 weeks so as I type this at 19 weeks, we are technically halfway!
Looking forward to: Our 20 week ultrasound next week!

Five on Friday :: A Brain Dump

Happy Friday everyone!  I've got to make this post a quick one as I've got places to go and people to see {nothing exciting, just work stuff, boring}!

ONE :: I'm currently 18 weeks along and looking forward to our big anatomy scan ultrasound in 2 weeks.  We haven't seen baby boy on the big screen in what feels like ages so I can't wait!  Baby boy is still nameless...we actually decided on the name last week {we came to a compromise of sorts} but now Jason keeps throwing out new names and seems unsure again.  I told Ashley to hurry up and monogram something so Jason will feel stuck!  Is that mean of me?

TWO :: I have an official plan for the nursery and would totally already be setting it up, except we are going to use Jack's current room for the next nursery so I still have to move all sorts of guest room crap out of Jack's new room and decorate and move Jack to a new room before I can start decorating.  Until all of that takes place, all new nursery stuff (including a new crib) is taking up residence in our dining room.  Awesome.

You can see my Pinterest Inspiration Board for the new room!  I'm trying to incorporate items that are already in the room like our Chevron gray and white rug and window curtains.  We are doing a totally different look for Jack's "big boy" room so this will make it easy easier.

THREE :: It's officially Christmas in June!   Time to order your monogrammed Christmas PJ's from Two Magnolia Lane!  Ordering this early will ensure you get the sizing and color combo you want.  I will be ordering a Baby Gown for Coffee Bean and matching PJ's for Jack!

FOUR :: I'm over at Houston Moms Blog today talking about my pool bag essentials and favorite sunscreens of 2015!

FIVE :: Don't forget to set your DVR for this Monday night for Odd Mom Out on Bravo.  This show looks hilarious and super relatable.  Who hasn't felt like the odd ball before?

I hope you have an awesome weekend!  We have a birthday party, church and I told Jason a pedicure retreat Saturday morning was a must for this pregnant lady whose been pulling MORE than her share  at home this week!
