Stock the Bar

I am co-hosting a wedding shower for a couple that are dear friends of me and Jason.  My contribution for this shindig was the invitations.  So, I called up Ashley and her biz, Ribbons and Rickrack to design and print them.

They turned out so great!

We paired this invite with a cute red envelope and the King & Queen of Hearts stamp (below).

Anytime you need invites, business cards, luggage tags, or a new blog design check out Ribbons and Rickrack!  Hope you are having a great week.

Invites...

Are out! They were mailed last week and have been arriving at their homes. My amazing mom, Shelley graciously addressed all of them herself. (She actually banned me from even touching them because I have such awful handwriting), but whatever, they look amazing!

Since the invitations are in people's hands, I can finally show you what we chose. (This is a sample of the invitation). We used a mix of script and the font below. Very simple invitations, that go with our garden wedding theme. I love them! Hope you do too.

We used the "Wedding Heart" stamp below on both our invitation and reply cards. The sage green stamp (below) was used on the reply card and the same stamp, but in creme was used on the invitation.

What type of stamp did you use on your invites? I love custom stamps with people's pics on them like below from Chris + Flora, but that will add some major moolah $$ onto your wedding budget. Yay for the wedding hearts stamp!

Jason and I just lucked out that there was already a stamp out there that perfectly matched our wedding theme and invites!

Save the Dates

I wasn't even sure that we needed Save the Dates- our wedding is relatively small and most of our family already knew about our May 23 nuptials, but I got worried that our special day may get lost on people's radar since it is Memorial Day weekend and May is a very busy month.

We decided we would do STD's but didn't want this to be too pricey. My mom and I had the BEST designer at Swoozie's and she suggested that instead of ordering them from an stationary company we would get them done in-house.

Look how cute they are:

I realize doing them ourselves would have been even more cost effective, but my mom and I did a cost-benefit analysis (like that? I'm getting an MBA) and realized it would be better to have Swoozie's do them!

P.S. I have other cost saving tips on invitations for Brides who want something professional and nice, but don't want to do it themselves. That post coming soon...

Peacock Invitations

, All over the wedding blog scene, I have noticed Peacock invitations, decorations, etc. I feel like this may be a great idea for Jason and I to use. The place that J and I are getting married and having our reception is known for having roaming peacocks around the property. Also, the resort where we are honeymooning has free roaming peacocks on the grounds.

What does everyone think about this idea? Too much or perfect?
