Pinterest Project: 8 Slow Cooker Freezer Meals in 1 Hour

I'm sure many of you have seen the pin "8 Slow Cooker Freezer Meals in 1 Hour."  This was so appealing to me since my time with Jack after work is precious.  I hate spending that time cooking dinner when I've been gone from him all day.

I have never made a Pinterest recipe...I'm not much of a cook (that's an understatement), but this one called me.

This post from SixSistersStuff.com includes everything from the 8 recipes, to a shopping list and suggested sides.

This past weekend I was determined.  I grocery shopped on Saturday for all of the meat, produce and ingredients I didn't already have.

Sunday after Church while Jack was napping and Jason was watching football, I put it all together!  I will say that instead of 1 hour, it took me almost 2 hours (cleanup included).  I'm sure the next time I do it, I'll be quicker.  I would also recommend doing it with a partner if possible.  That would drastically make things move quicker.

The night before I gathered all of the ingredients together and labeled the freezer bags

On prep day I bagged all of the meat first

All done!  You just dump the ingredients in with the meat and freeze.

I now have 8 meals stored in my freezer ready to go!  I plan to do blog post followups to let you know how the actual meals turned out.  So stay tuned...we are eating this first one tonight: BBQ Spareribs.

Has anyone else tried this or other Pinterest Freezer meals??  Follow me on Pinterest so we can share recipes!

  1. I made a new beef and bean enchilada recipe last night that makes a great freezer meal. I'm going to blog it soon but it was SO easy. My tomatillo enchilada stack recipe is also a great freezer meal. I always double the recipe when I make it so there is a pan to stick in the freezer.

    1. Yummy! I'm looking forward to trying the beef and bean enchilada recipe!!! Great idea to double the recipe and freeze half.

  2. Ok. You've inspired me to finally use my crock pot. I begged for one for Christmas 2 years ago, and have used it only *drumroll please* ONCE. For some reason it intimidates me? But my husband and I work opposite shifts, so making up some easy freezer meals would be perfect! :)

    1. That's so funny because I was the same way with my crock pot for years! Heres to us getting some use out of them!

  3. Okay, I am dying to try this!! Anxious to hear what you think of the recipes! Truth be told, I'm not a great cook and love anything that's quick, simple and doesn't keep me in the kitchen for hours! :)

    1. Hey Darci! Truth be told, I'm not either! I just posted about 2 of the meals that we tried this week. We have a friend in common...Vanessa from Sunflower State of Mind! She is a member of the Pi Phi Houston Alum club with me. Small world!
