Colin Everett: 3 Months

Weight: 15 pounds, 11 oz.
Length:  Not taken this month

Head Circumference:  Not taken this month

Clothes: 3 month and 6 month,  Size 2 Diapers

Sleep:  You are staying awake much more during the day, but still taking short naps.  The napping is inconsistent and has changed a bit since I went back to work.  Your night sleeping is still all over the place - sometimes going for longer stretches and sometimes not, but I can't complain.  You are just too cute and sweet even in the middle of the night.

Schedule: We had a good schedule going with a nice eat, play, sleep rotation but then I went back to work and it's now pretty inconsistent.  You typically eat around 6am and then go back down to sleep while I get ready for work and then wake up and eat again around 9am.  Other feedings around noon, 3pm, 6pm, and 9pm.  Bath around 8pm and bedtime at 10pm.

My hope is to get everyone adjusted in the next few weeks with me at work and the nanny getting used to two kiddos.  Then we can work on establishing a more formal eat, play, sleep routine!

Health: Everything is good {knock on wood}!  The worst thing you have dealt with is ongoing gassiness and a little congestion here and there.  Just like your brother you have very dry, eczema prone skin and mild cradle cap, but both are under control!

Crying: You are not crying as often, but it is still oh so loud when you do.  You will let us know immediately if you are hungry, have a poopy diaper or just aren't happy.  You do okay in the car as long as we are moving.  The second we stop you let us know that it's not okay!

Feeding: You are still an eating champ, feeding every 3 hours.  When you take a bottle of pumped milk it's usually 4-5 oz. each feeding.  For a while you were sleeping longer stretches at night, but now the norm is to eat once in the middle of the night around 3am.  Sometimes you go longer and sometimes it's sooner.  We are still trying to get on a more defined schedule!

Likes:
  • Eating
  • Being held
  • Watching your brother
  • Being talked to
  • Snuggles
  • Walks outside
    Dislikes:
    • Tummy time although it's getting better

    Milestones:
    • Holding your neck up and moving it to the side during tummy time.  You even rolled over on your side once.
    • Grabbing things like my necklace or the washcloth during baths
    • Tons of smiles and laughs
Places You've Gone: You had a lot of doctor appointments this month.  You went to see the pediatrician, urologist and had an ultrasound at Texas Children's.  You have been to church, Sugar Creek Country Club and several restaurants.  And of course lots of Target trips!

Visitors:  This month you got to meet your Uncle John and G-Daddy from Jason's side of the family.  Both attended your special Baptism!  You also met the ladies of the Houston Moms Blog Executive team since you attended our 2016 planning meeting with me.

Postpartum:   At 3 months postpartum I am back to my pre-baby weight and fitting into all the clothes I was wearing right before I got pregnant.  I can't say that everything is back to normal, but I'm happy with the progress I've made so far especially since I haven't done anything to lose the weight like watch my diet or exercise.  That will come once I get adjusted to working again.

Life with Two:  As I've said before things get easier each day as we get adjusted to two.  Jack is the best big brother and truly loves when you are around.  He misses you when you are sleeping and gets excited when you come home if you've been gone.  He loves reading to you and showing you all of your toys.

Special Memories this Month:  Your Baptism is the best memory of the month!  You were Baptized in front of all of your {huge} family with your parents, brother and Godparents standing beside you.  It was a very special day that we will never forget.
