Five on Friday

--ONE--

Halloween costume crisis averted!  Word to the wise...try your costumes on before the big day.  I tried to get Jack's costume on him last weekend.  I purchased the elephant costume from Pottery Barn Kids months ago and have been so excited ever since.  It was plenty big so I never tried it on him.  PBK has a major design flaw in this particular costume and it was nearly impossible to get it through his arms.  Lots of screaming and tears later (from him, not me) I was so upset that Jack's perfectly planned costume wouldn't pan out.

Nanny to the rescue!  Our fabulous nanny first went shopping for a new costume for little man, but when she struck out decided to take the elephant apart and reconstruct him!  Success!  I'm so happy that the elephant will work out after all...especially since we just got Tucker's costume in to coordinate!

--TWO--

Speaking of, Tucker is going to be a lion this year all thanks to Ashlee, my scarf swap partner!  She was nice enough to pickup this costume for Tuck after I couldn't find his size anywhere.  I'm so thankful for my sweet, new friend and the wonderful world of blogging!

--THREE--

My little pumpkin is doing so much better this week.  Thanks for all of your sweet comments and notes last week.  It was determined that he is probably just teething.  Knowing its this and that he is healthy otherwise is a big comfort to me.  We've been giving him lots of cold teethers and some Tylenol at night when its too bad.  Anything work for you?

Feeling better, but so over the Texans losing streak

--FOUR--

We visited not one, but two pumpkin patches last Saturday.  We clearly are ready for fall!  Don't we look dressed for the season...in all actuality it was so hot and humid that day.  We were DYING in our fall clothes and quickly went home and changed into shorts and tees.

--FIVE--

Speaking of being ready for a change in season, we also had a fire going last weekend even though it was 80 degrees outside.  It was a rainy day so we turned the air conditioner down, drank pumpkin spice lattes and pretended it was cold.  Works for me!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Chelsea......that's the exact same costume I got for Brody! And I tried it on him last weekend and had a tough time getting it on too but I was thinking it was just late at night and he was already tired and irritable when I tried it on him. Yikes. I know he will only end up wearing it for a few pictures anyway because it's really going to be too hot most likely anyway :( #costumefail

    1. That is too funny Annie! Hope you can get it on Brody long enough for a quick picture. My mother thinks I'm crazy for buying that costume for Jack just for a few pics, especially since it's so hot in Texas too. Oh well...what we do for our baby's first Halloween!
