Kid Tested, Mom Approved Link Up {Making Memories}

I'm joining in again for the Kid Tested, Mom Approved Link-Up Party hosted today by Emily of Dear Owen.  Today's Topic is Making Memories:

Time with our little ones goes by so quickly! How do you make it memorable? How do you capture those memories? Share with us your best ideas for making and preserving memories with your kids.

I can say that life during the first few months goes by FAST.  You are working on little sleep, sudden changes, hormones, healing and adjusting to your new little one.  You also don't want to miss anything and remember all of it.  Easy right?

I am so thankful that I've been recording things along the way.  So much has happened there is no way I could have remembered it all months later.  I have a Ruby Love Baby Book that is great, but let's be honest, it's not practical to keep the book out and record in it everyday.

A couple of tools have helped me record these special memories throughout our hectic schedule.  I don't use all of them everyday, but between a mixture of all, I'm able to feel confident that our day to day memories are being recorded.  How special to share these things with Jack one day!

Collect Photo App

This app is so fun!  All you do is upload a photo for each day of the month into their calendar.  What a great visual way to organize those memories and milestones!

-  Maybook

I carry a Maybook in my purse (which is with me at all times) so I can always jot down something I want to add to the baby book later.  I use this for doctor visit stats like weight, length, medications, and dates of specific milestones.  Obviously any notebook will work, but I love Maybooks since you can customize them and they are lightweight.  If you are having a baby soon, be sure and keep a notebook at your hospital bed side so you can record all the special moments...there is too much going on to think you will remember it all!

My beautiful Maybook I'm currently using.  Gifted from Ashley!!!

-  Blogging

I do monthly recaps of Jack that I plan to make into a book of his first year.  If you are already a blogger, that is an easy baby book!  Remember, anything you blog, you can compile and print for yourself or family members.  Read Month 1, 2, 3 and 4

-  Email address for Jack

Jason and I setup an email account for Jack before he was born.  We will randomly send him little notes, pictures or videos that are special to us.  Boy will he have a lot of mail to go through when we give him this email account one day.  You can also share the email address with family who might want to send them notes throughout their life.

-  Instagram

Besides being a great way to share photos with friends, Instagram keeps your day to day memories organized for you!  Feel like you have no time to upload photos?  I do it when I'm stuck at a traffic light (not driving mom), nursing, or eating lunch at work.  It only takes moments to upload your fave pic from the day before.  You can find me on Instagram @ChelseaPurifoy

Mom's One Line a Day Journal

I've blogged about this before, but it's worth mentioning again.  This little journal sits on my bedside table so I can record a short sentence recap of what happened that day.  It just takes a few minutes and is an easy, simple way to ensure you are recording all important milestones.  I go back once a month or so with this and record the big stuff into his baby book.  I'm not perfect and don't do it everyday, but I'm working on it.

    1. Yes! A notebook was so helpful. I was so out of it and wrote down everything the nurse or doctor told me everytime they came in my room.
